This project investigates with students how and where they already self-manage their wellbeing at school, with a focus on unconventional spaces. The mixed methods study brings together an interdisciplinary research team and partners from education, architecture, and wellbeing to explore under-represented everyday wellbeing experiences at school.

Unconventional spaces for student wellbeing self-management

Student wellbeing at school is an urgent priority that needs collaborative consideration. The project centres student experience and examines overlooked environments in which wellbeing is already managed in everyday school life.

Focus

The project investigates how and where students self-manage wellbeing in school settings, especially in spaces that are not usually foregrounded in formal wellbeing design discussions.

Approach

A mixed methods study led by an interdisciplinary research team, working alongside partners from education, architecture, and wellbeing.

Aim

To deepen understanding of under-represented everyday wellbeing experiences at school and make them visible for future design and educational practice.
